Here we have a previously discontinued model, the 2021 Farer Discovery Purple Dial Automatic, with a curvaceous 39mm polished and brushed stainless steel case that gently curves over your wrist with tapered lugs. Polished flanks and brushed top surfaces lead to a lug-to-lug length of 45.5mm and a case thickness of 11mm, ensuring a comfortable fit on your wrist. On the right side is a coin-edged crown with a signed bronze cap. A smooth polished bezel holds a domed sapphire crystal above a striking purple sector dial. The minute track has blue numerals surrounding applied 12, 3, 6 and 9 Arabic numerals and baton indexes marking the hours, each filled with SuperLumiNova. Steel hands filled with SuperLumiNova are complemented by an orange arrow-tipped sweeping second hand; at 12 o’clock, we have the Farer Universal motif, and at 6 o’clock, “Automatic” completes this colourful, versatile timepiece. On the reverse, a screwed-down exhibition case back engraved with the details of the watch around its edge, inside an automatic Sellita Cal. SW200, 26 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, this workhorse movement has hand winding and hacking seconds for your convenience. It also comes with a quick-release Farer stainless steel bracelet secured by a concealed signed clasp; all links are provided, plus a quick-release 20mm Farer leather strap and signed pin buckle. In 2015, Farer, an independent British watch brand, was founded by Stuart Finlayson, Jono Holt, Ben Lewin, and Paul Sweetenham. Operating out of Ascot, Berkshire, in the UK. All of them had a passion for watches, and their first creations were nine quartz watches. In 2016, they launched three automatic watches named after British Royal Navy ships. Building on this success in 2019 they released two land speed record-themed watches and later a collection of chronographs.
