This watch is sold with its original DOXA Box & Paperwork. The watch comes paired on its original 20mm blue fitted rubber strap with a titanium signed buckle. The watch is from November 2021 and is sold in worn condition, but overall very fair as you can see. The watch comes with our 12-Month Warranty.
The Watch
Here we have a 2021 Doxa SUB 600T Time + Tide Pacific Limited Edition of 200 pieces. This collaboration between DOXA and the Time+Tide Team has revitalised the 1980s SUB 600T. Time + Tide is one of the world’s leading publishers of watch content. Starting in 2014 in Melbourne, Australia it has grown to have editors in New York, and London. They have for the first time used brushed Titanium for the dynamic 40mm angular-shaped case. The sharp angles of the case with bevelled edges end with recessed lugs. A lug to lug length of 47.5mm and a case thickness of 14mm gives the watch an impressive wrist presence. At 4 o’clock a signed screw-down crown sits slightly raised from the case but fully protected. The patented unidirectional bezel has a blue ceramic insert with an orange depth scale and white minute scale allowing the diver to know his depth and duration of dive. A flat sapphire crystal sits above a pacific blue dial. An outer minute track with applied disc and hexagon indexes outlined in orange and filled with SuperLumiNova mark the hours. Large sword hands with an orange minute hand and white hour holland are complemented by a white counterweighted sweeping second hand, the text is precisely applied in white and orange. On the reverse, a screw-down case back with engraving around the outside and the DOXA fish in the centre in bas-relief. Inside an Automatic Sellita SW 200-1, 26 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour. The movement has hand winding and hacking for your convenience. The watch comes fitted on its blue rubber strap with a titanium signed buckle and comes with its DOXA presentation box and paperwork.
Personal Note
We have sold many Doxa's throughout the years and usually have one in stock at most times, this particular reference has to be one of my favourites yet! The design and colour scheme is fantastic, whilst definitely thick and wears thick on the wrist, the design encourages that and it doesn't look out of place which ins't usually the case for thick watches. All that paired on the blue rubber strap which just hugs the wrist, I wouldn't hesitate on this one if you are considering a Doxa!
The Brand
Doxa was established in 1889 in Le Locle, Switzerland, by Georges Ducommun. In 1921 Doxa became the supplier of dash clocks to Bugatti. In 1925 Georges became the vice president of the Swiss Horology Society. 1936 saw Georges's passing, and the company was now in the hands of son-in-law Jaques Nardin the grandson of Ulysse Nardin. In 1944 the company was renamed “Manufacture des Montre DOXA”. The company was finally sold in 1997 to the Jenny family, transferring their headquarters to Bienne, Switzerland.
