Here we have a 2021 DOXA Sub 300 Carbon Professional Orange 822.70.351.20, the 42.5mm C-shaped Forged Carbon case sits on the wrist like a cushion, the ultra-lightweight case is fitted with a Titanium chamber to protect the movement and is pressure resistant, and a lug-to-lug length of 45mm and a case thickness of 13.5mm gives the watch an impressive wrist presence. At 3 o’clock a signed screw-down crown that fits recessed into the side of the case for protection. The patented unidirectional forged carbon bezel has the U.S. Navy No Decompression scales, with an outer depth scale in orange and the minute scale in white, to allow divers to gauge how much air was left in their tanks. The boxed sapphire crystal AR coated sits above the orange dial, large double baton indexes with Super-LumiNova down their centres mark the hours, and at 3 o’clock a framed date window. A small hour hand with a larger minute hand is complemented by a sweeping second hand with a Super-LumiNova square counterweight; this colour combination is highly visible when diving. A crosshair on the dial has text on the upper left side with “DOXA” and “automatic” printed, and on the lower right side, “SUB 300” and “Professional''. On the reverse, a screw-down Titanium black PVD coated case back with the DOXA sailboat motif in bas-relief in the centre, inside automatic ETA 2824-2, 25 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour, COSC Certified. The watch comes paired with its original 19mm Doxa signed black Rubber strap with a signed black PVD coated folding clasp with ratcheting dive extension, embossed with the Doxa fish and push-button release, and the watch also comes with its Doxa presentation box, travel case and papers.
Having very recently sold the SUB 300 Carbon Aqualung model it is great to have the regular line Carbon SUB 300 in orange in stock! The case is perfect on the wrist, as you'd expect from Doxa and this is only made better by the lightness and intrigue that Carbon brings, I truly think I could spend all day looking closely at Carbon, it's mesmerising!
Doxa was established in 1889 in Le Locle, Switzerland, by Georges Ducommun. In 1921 Doxa became the supplier of dash clocks to Bugatti. In 1925 Georges became the vice president of the Swiss Horology Society. 1936 saw Georges's passing, and the company was now in the hands of son-in-law Jaques Nardin, the grandson of Ulysse Nardin. In 1944 the company was renamed “Manufacture des Montre DOXA''. The company was finally sold in 1997 to the Jenny family, transferring their headquarters to Bienne, Switzerland.
