Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Citizen box and paperwork. The watch comes paired with its original Citizen black rubber strap. The watch is from 3rd May 2021 and is sold in worn condition, however, as you can see it is in like-new condition as it has hardly been worn. The watch comes with its Manufacturer Warranty.

The Watch

Citizen founded the Shokosha Watch Research Institute in 1918. The name originates from a pocket watch it produced in 1924. The Mayor of Tokyo, Mr. Shimpei Goto, named the watch "CITIZEN", in the hopes the watch would become a worldwide success. In 1930 the name Citizen Watch Company was introduced. In 1959, Citizen launched Japan’s first fully waterproof watch, the Parawater. During the “quartz crisis” they developed the Eco-Drive movement in 1976. This was one of the first solar-powered watches on the market. Continuing to innovate and expand its reach In 1993, Citizen introduced the world’s first multi-band atomic watch. It uses the Atomic clocks around the world to synchronise to within two nanoseconds per day. Citizen make the cases, the dial, the hands, the movement in their Iida factory in Japan. Today the Citizen Group owns brands such as Alpina, Arnold & Son.

This 2021 Citizen is part of the Promaster range. It has a 43.5mm Black DLC coated titanium case. A lug to lug length of 49.5mm and a thickness of 12mm gives the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side, is a screw-down crown protected by crown guards. A wide dive bezel has a 60-minute scale printed in white against the black insert. The flat mineral crystal sits above a striking blue dial. Applied geometric-shaped indexes mark the hours coated in luminescence. At 3 o’clock a framed date window. Skeletonised sword hands have luminescence tips complemented by an arrow centre second hand. The text is precisely printed in white. On the reverse, a screw-down case back with the Citizen Eco-Drive globe engraved into it. Inside a Citizen Eco-Drive Cal. E168. The watch comes fitted on a Citizen 22mm rubber strap with a signed buckle and comes with its Citizen presentation box and papers.

Personal Note

This is a great go anywhere and do anything kind of watch, yes it's black coated Titanium so you may get some wear over time, but I'd say embrace that and let it become part of its character. Plus for this price you really cannot go wrong, take it before someone else does.
