Here we have a 2021 Christopher Ward C65 Super Compressor Blue. Christopher Ward has recreated the Super Compressor with its retro styling cues and construction methods. They are the first to use a compression spring in the case back for a very long time. The Super Compressor watch case was created and patented in 1956 by Ervin Piquerez SA (EPSA). The 41mm brushed stainless steel cushion case curves towards the stubby lugs, and a lug-to-lug length of 47mm and a thickness of 13.5mm give the watch an impressive wrist presence. At 2 o’clock, a signed screw-down crown is used to adjust the inner bezel, the top hatching is orange, and at 4 o’clock, a signed screw-down crown is used to change the time. A glass box sapphire crystal emulates the crystals used in the past. The sunburst Ocean Blue dial, as you rotate your wrist, goes from blue to almost black, reflecting the ocean depths. The inner blue bezel has a 60-minute scale and is unidirectional, with 120 clicks and an orange triangle at 12. A minute track has orange lume pips and is further divided into 1/5th seconds for extra precision. Applied baton indexes mark the hours and are coated in SuperLumiNova. Broad hands with an orange minute hand filled with lume. A sweeping second hand with an orange counterweight and the Christopher Ward Trident. The text is precisely printed at 6 o’clock. Super Compressor is printed in orange. I think you can see a theme going on here. On the reverse, an exhibition case back showcases the orange compression ring that holds the spring. Inside an automatic Sellita SW200-1, 26 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour, the rotor is nicely decorated with the twin flag engraving. It comes paired on its original 22mm Christopher Ward signed brushed stainless steel bracelet secured by a signed clasp; all links are provided. Comes with its presentation box and papers.
