The Watch

Here we have a 2021 Bremont Pilot Chronograph Black ALT1-P2 JET based on their original pilot watch, the ALT1P. A curvaceous 43mm hardened matte black DLC case curves over your wrist with thick tapered lugs, designed using their Bremont Trip-Tick construction system made up of 3 parts, a hardened steel bezel, a middle section that provides the case with unique shock-absorbing and finally a screwed-down steel black DLC coated exhibition case back, a lug-to-lug length of 49.5mm and a case thickness of 16mm give the watch an impressive wrist presence. Down the right side, we have the polished chronograph pushers and a signed screw-down crown in the centre. On the left at 10 you find the date corrector recessed pusher. A stepped smooth bezel holds a curved sapphire crystal AR coated in multiple layers creating a perfect window onto the dynamic black dial, an outer minute chapter ring is precisely executed surrounding Arabic numerals coated in a sandy beige "51 Lume" coloured Super-LumiNova marking the hours, between the 4 and 5 is a date window, at 3 o’clock a recessed 30-minute register, at 6 o’clock a recessed 12-hour register and finally at 9 o’clock a recessed continuous seconds register, each with red and yellow numerals and a sword hand filled with "51 Lume" Super-LumiNova, sword hands filled with the same lume are complemented by a lollipop chronograph hand, at 12 o’clock we have the Bremont motif completing this distinctive stealthy chronograph. On the reverse a screwed-down black DLC coated exhibition case back showcasing the automatic Modified calibre 13 ¼''' BE-53AE, 27 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, based on the ETA 7753, COSC is certified to ISO 3159 standards, made up of an Anachron balance spring, Nivaflex 1 mainspring and a skeletonised Bremont rotor. The watch comes paired with two 22mm Bremont leather straps, black and brown with a signed pin buckle and comes with its Bremont presentation box, travel roll, spring bar removal tool and paperwork.

Personal Note

I am a big fan of the design of this watch, the deep black case contrasted against the faux-patina used, it works perfectly, even more so on the brown Bremont strap! Amazingly, it wears well for its size too, it certainly is a big watch, but comfortable nonetheless. The best part is the incredible savings on RRP you are getting buying pre-owned from us, the way I always recommend buying Bremont, or any watch for that matter!

The Brand

Bremont was founded in 2002 by the brothers Nick and Giles English, their watch designs are inspired by their love of flying and everything mechanical. During the 1990s while flying their 1930s biplane over France they got into trouble and had to land in a field, not wishing to contact the authorities involved, they were met by the farm owner who gave them and the plane shelter, it turned out he had flown during the war and was an engineer. The brothers, grateful to the kind farmer, promised they would never forget him, his name was Antoine Bremont. In 1995 they were involved in an accident and sadly lost their father Dr. Euan English while flying their World War II vintage Harvard aircraft, his loss and their injuries drove the brothers to create a fitting legacy. Moving into their Manufacturing & Technology Centre in 2021, innovation and producing technologically advanced timepieces have been an ever-expanding experience for Bremont. Their military connections through special edition watches and tireless work with Help for Heroes and The Royal British Legion means their late fathers' legacy will continue to grow.
