2020s Welsbro Lemon Lime Soda Diver 'Monnin' Automatic 37mm

Here we have a fun 2020s Welsbro Lemon Lime Soda Diver 'Monnin' Automatic made in a small batch size of 12 pieces; this collection sold out in 60 seconds. The distinctive 37mm ‘Monnin’ stainless steel case, upcycled and unused from the 1980s, features polished flanks and circular, brushed, wide lugs. Its curvaceous, chamfered-edged flanks lead to a lug-to-lug length of 44.5mm, and a case thickness of 12.5mm ensures a comfortable fit on your wrist. On the right side, a deep knurled screw-down crown is protected by flared crown guards. The bidirectional, non-ratcheting, deeply knurled steel bezel has a black aluminium insert with a 60-minute dive scale in silver-painted numerals and markings. A domed acrylic crystal sits above a colourful matte lemon-lime soda dial. An outer minute track surrounds black outlined discs and trapezoid indexes coated in green Super-LumiNova, marking the hours. Black Dauphine hands filled with Super-LumiNova are complemented by an arrow-pointed second hand. At noon, we have the Welsbro motif, and at 6 o’clock, ‘Automatic’ completes this fun vintage-inspired sports watch. On the reverse, a screw-down solid case back is engraved with the details of the watch, and inside is an upcycled and unused 1970s automatic A. Schild Cal. 1913, 25 jewels, beating at 21,600 beats per hour. It comes paired with its 18mm Welsbro green suede strap and pin buckle. Welsbro is a watch brand that originated in New York City around 1926, created by the Weissman Watch Company. Parts for the watches were sourced from Switzerland, and they were assembled in the United States under the Welsbro name. Unfortunately, the company went out of business during the tough times for watchmakers known as the Quartz Crisis in the 1970s. In 2021, the Welsbro brand was brought back to life by a married couple, Rich Reichbach and Katie Willis. Now based in Portland, Oregon, they are committed to giving back by donating 10% of their sales to a nonprofit called ‘Meals on Us,’ which helps provide food for those in need. They purchased the Welsbro domain and started promoting the brand on social media, launching their first watches in September 2021.
