Description

Here we have a 2020s DOXA SUB 200 C-Graph 'Caribbean' Blue’ featuring a 45mm 316L stainless steel case with tapered lugs, polished and brushed surfaces transition with crisp lines, chamfered edged flanks lead to a lug-to-lug length of 49mm and a case thickness of 16.5mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side, we have the short pushers and a signed screw-down crown with the orange Doxa fish symbol. The unidirectional dive bezel features a blue sapphire insert with a 60-minute scale coated in Super-LumiNova, and it holds a scratch-resistant sapphire box crystal with an anti-reflective coating and a distinctive dome curvature that reminds us of the plexiglass crystals used in the 1960s. The 'Caribbean' Blue’ dial has an outer minute track precisely executed with applied baton indexes filled in Super‑LumiNova, marking the hours. The chronograph consists of a 30-minute register, a 12-hour register, and a running seconds register, each recessed with a filled Super-LumiNova arrow hand. Steel baton hands complemented by a tapered second hand are coated in the same Super‑LumiNova. At noon, we have the DOXA Automatic C-Graph motif completing this striking dive sports chronograph. On the reverse, a screw-down case back with the deeply engraved DOXA fish symbol on top of a wave pattern, inside an automatic Sellita Cal. SW510 b, 27 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour, a cam-style tricompax chronograph. It comes paired with its original full-link DOXA 20mm Stainless steel “Beads of Rice” bracelet secured by a DOXA-signed folding flip lock clasp, along with its DOXA presentation box, travel case & swing tag.

Personal Note

This DOXA SUB 200 C-Graph 'Caribbean' Blue certainly isn't for the faint of heart at 45mm and 16.5mm thick, but dare I say it wears so much better on the wrist than you would initially believe based on those numbers. This is thanks to the wonderful cushion case DOXA uses for their SUB 200 range, but also the super short 49mm lug-to-lug measurement, which only helps with wearability. So don't write this one off completely before you try it on, book yourself an appointment and see for yourself!

About DOXA

Doxa was established in 1889 in Le Locle, Switzerland, by Georges Ducommun. In 1921, Doxa became Bugatti's supplier of dash clocks. In 1925, Georges became the vice president of the Swiss Horology Society. 1936 saw Georges's passing, and the company was now in the hands of son-in-law Jaques Nardin, the grandson of Ulysse Nardin. In 1944, the company was renamed “Manufacture des Montres DOXA”. The company was finally sold in 1997 to the Jenny family, transferring their headquarters to Bienne, Switzerland.
