Description

Here we have a 2020s Citizen Promaster Dive Super Titanium 47mm BN0220-16E featuring an imposing, ultra-rugged 47mm sandblasted Super Titanium case. The Promaster line is a masterclass in professional tool-watch engineering, closely mirroring the legendary, lug-free aesthetic that Citizen first introduced in 1982 with its historic, record-setting 1300m Professional Diver. With its bold geometric proportions and functional clarity, this piece strips away all unnecessary cosmetic distraction to celebrate pure, uncompromising utility. A purposeful case thickness of 13mm and a highly compact, lug-free length of just 45mm ensure a remarkably wearable, blocky profile that hugs the wrist comfortably despite its aggressive stance. At the 3 o’clock position sits a heavily knurled screw-down crown, protected by integrated corner guards, allowing for robust water resistance and secure time setting. A gear-like, 60-click unidirectional bezel frames a hardened crystal above a textured, sand-patterned black dial. The highly legible dial layout features oversized, gold-rimmed geometric indices filled with high-intensity Promaster luminescence, complemented by a clean, outer minute track. Positioned at the 3 o’clock is a small date window that integrates cleanly into the dial's functional design. Sweeping across the layout are chunky, high-visibility hands paired with a signature lollipop seconds indicator that offers a striking contrast for instant legibility in pitch-black conditions. On the reverse, a solid screw-down case back ensures an ISO-compliant 200-metre depth rating and seals the light-powered heart within. Inside beats the reliable Citizen Calibre E168 Eco-Drive movement. This advanced Japanese-made movement features solar-charging capabilities, hacking seconds, a quick-set date function, and an impressive 6-month power reserve. The integrated lugless design tapers to a width of 24mm, effortlessly framing the heavy-duty 24mm black polyurethane strap and a signed titanium pin buckle.

Points of Mention

This watch is "Watch Only" and is sold without its original Citizen box and paperwork. The watch comes paired with a heavy-duty 24mm black polyurethane strap and a signed titanium pin buckle. The watch is from Circa. 2020s and is sold in a lightly used condition, as you can see in the photos. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

Personal Note

This Citizen is a brilliant example of why you should never judge a watch purely by the specifications sheet. On paper, a 47mm diver sounds absolutely enormous, but thanks to the lug-free case design and surprisingly compact overall footprint, it wears far better and more comfortably than you'd ever expect. The case itself is completely bonkers, in the best possible way. It looks like something designed for a deep-sea expedition rather than a display cabinet, and that's exactly why I like it. Citizen has never been afraid to experiment with tool-watch design, and this feels like a direct descendant of those wonderfully over-engineered professional divers from decades past. Add this ridiculous watch to your collection today!

About Citizen

Citizen founded the Shokosha Watch Research Institute in 1918. The name originates from a pocket watch it produced in 1924. The Mayor of Tokyo, Mr Shimpei Goto, named the watch "CITIZEN" in the hopes that the watch would become a worldwide success. In 1930, the name Citizen Watch Company was introduced. In 1959, Citizen launched Japan’s first fully waterproof watch, the Parawater. During the “quartz crisis”, they developed the Eco-Drive movement in 1976. This was one of the first solar-powered watches on the market. Continuing to innovate and expand its reach, in 1993, Citizen introduced the world’s first multi-band atomic watch. It uses the Atomic clocks around the world to synchronise to within two nanoseconds per day. Citizens make the cases, the dial, the hands, and the movement in their Iida factory in Japan. Today, the Citizen Group owns brands such as Alpina and Arnold & Son.
