The 41mm brushed stainless steel case curves over your wrist with tapered flat-ended drilled lugs. Its curved flanks lead to a lug-to-lug length of 50mm and a case thickness of 13mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. A stainless steel bezel has an engraved 60-minute scale filled in black. At 3 o’clock, the bezel-lock system is also present, to release the bezel, unscrew the crown, turn the bezel to the desired position, then push the crown and screw down to lock it once again. The crown, which crown guards protect, is capped with a red, white, and blue Tricolore roundel of the French Air Force. Its box sapphire crystal gives the watch a vintage aesthetic, sitting above a grey dial. An outer minute track surrounds an applied inverted triangle and disc indexes filled with Super-LumiNova marking the hours, a framed coloured match date window sits at 3 o’clock, and a red, white, and blue Tricolore roundel of the French Air Force at 6 o’clock has been used since WW1. On the reverse, there is a screw-down solid case back with the details of the watch engraved around the edge and an embossed French Air Force insignia above Armée de L’Air, inside an Automatic Yema Cal. About Yema

Yema was founded in 1948 by Henry Louis Belmont after he came to the top of his class at the National Watchmaking School of Besancon in 1931. The legend goes that the name Yema was created by a teenager's imagination who entered a competition run by Henry. 1963 saw the introduction of the Yema Superman essentially made for dive professionals; it had a 300-meter water resistance. Its bezel lock system made it quite unique, and was soon adopted by the French Air Force for its pilots. In the 1960s, Yema became the leading watch exporter in France, selling more than 500,000 watches a year in over 50 countries. In 1982 Yema went to space with Yema Spationaute 1.
