WMT (Watch Experimental Unit)is a Hong Kong-based company founded by Alan Shum. Specialising in customised vintage Rolex homage watches with Japanese movements. Each watch is hand-assembled and given a distressed treatment making it unique. Their online store gives you many custom options creating a watch of your liking.
The WMT Panton UAE is limited to 50 pieces. It’s 38mm stainless steel case gently tapers and curves over your wrist. A lug to lug length of 46mm and a thickness of 14mm ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist. Polished and brushed surfaces have crisp edges. The Pepsi bezel is made of aged Brass; the (Bakelite-like) insert has UAE numeral markings. A double domed Acrylic crystal sits above a Tropical dial, giving the impression the watch has spent years absorbing the Sun's UV rays. The applied disc and baton indexes are lume filled with aged Super-LumiNova. The age effect is expertly done by hand, at 3 o’clock a date window. Baton’s hands have a Super-LumiNova infill. The center seconds hand has a lollipop balance. On the reverse a screw-down case back. Inside an Automatic Miyota. Fitted on a 20mm Stainless steel bracelet with a signed folding clasp.
Points of Mention
This watch is sold with its original WMT box and WMT paperwork. The watch comes paired on its original rivet style bracelet, spare links are incoming from WMT. The watch is from November 2020 and is in worn condition, but overall very good as you can see from the photos. The watch comes with its Manufacturer Warranty.
One from the personal collection, I really wish I could keep them all but I truly would be a terrible watch dealer if I did... This WMT is fantastic, you really do get all the feels of a vintage Rolex GMT with a bakelite bezel, it's quite scary how great it looks to be honest!
