2020 TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Anniversary 39mm

Here we have a 2020 TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Anniversary, One of 1,860 pieces with a 39mm polished stainless steel case that curves over your wrist with finely chamfered tapered flat-ended lugs, a lug-to-lug length of 47mm and a case thickness of 14mm ensure a comfortable fit. Down the right side, we have the piston chronograph pushers and a signed crown in the centre; a smooth polished bezel holds a domed sapphire crystal above a striking sunburst silver dial. An outer minute chapter ring surrounds applied steel batons chamfered top and bottom with lume pips marking the hours; at 3 o’clock, a recessed 30-minute register; at 6 o’clock, continuous seconds register and finally, at 9 o’clock, a 12-hour register; each with a concentric circular pattern and precisely marked. Slender steel baton hands are infilled with SuperLumiNova and complemented by a black tapered chronograph hand. At 12 o’clock, we have the Carrera Heuer motif, which completes this vintage-inspired chronograph. On the reverse, a screw-down exhibition case back showcasing the automatic TAG Heuer Cal. HEUER02, 33 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, this column wheel movement has a skeletonised rotor and is based on the original 1969 CH80 plans and is made up of 168 components. It comes paired with its 19mm black Tag Heuer leather strap with a signed “Heuer'' folded clasp, plus an additional 19mm strap in the box and the watch comes with its Tag Heuer presentation box, travel case, swing tag and paperwork.

This TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Anniversary, reference CBK221B.FC6479, in the incredible 39mm case has to be one of my favourites from this range in recent years as it is the one that from afar could be mistaken for a vintage Carrera. The silver dial and the faux lume work beautifully together, all powered by the automatic TAG Heuer Cal. 02, it is a workhorse on the wrist.
