This watch is a modern interpretation of that "Professional" dive watch and is exclusive to the Seiko Boutique. A 40.5mm brushed and facet-polished angular stainless steel case is coated in Seiko’s Diashield super-hard coating. The case shape sits on the wrist like a cushion. Seiko gets ergonomics so right. A lug-to-lug length of 47mm and a thickness of 13mm give the watch an impressive wrist presence. The facet-polished edges lead the eye towards the broad, drilled, flat-ended lugs. On the right side at 4 o’clock, a screw-down crown. The 120-click unidirectional bezel has a knurled edge for grip and a black insert with a deep-engraved 60-minute scale in white numerals and markings. A domed sapphire crystal AR-coated on the inside sits above a stunning sunburst brown/grey dial. An outer minute chapter ring with applied disc and baton indexes are filled in LumiBrite, marking the hours. At 3 o’clock, a date window. Facet-edged, broad hands are filled in LumiBrite, complemented by a lume-tipped sweeping seconds hand. The text is printed on the dial with a Seiko motif, Prospex logo, and "Automatic Diver’s 200m," completing this modern, vintage-inspired dive watch. On the reverse, a screw-down solid case back is etched with the watch's specifications. Embossed in the centre is the characteristic Seiko Tsunami. Inside an automatic Seiko Cal. 6R35, 24 jewels, 21,600 beats per hour. This workhorse movement has hacking and hand-winding for your convenience. It comes with its original Seiko 20mm stainless steel bracelet, featuring brushed surfaces and polished edges, complete with a Seiko folding clasp, dive extension, and flip-lock; all links are included. Personal Note

This is the iconic Seiko Prospex SPB with a very subtle twist. This is the reference SPB145J1, which is a Boutique Special Edition and features a subtle brown/grey dial which contrasts perfectly against the matte black bezel. If you are considering a Seiko SPB, you really can't go wrong with any of them, but this small twist makes it that bit more interesting on and off the wrist. Snap this on up into your collection today!

About Seiko

Seiko's history began in 1881 when Kintaro Hattori established the K. Hattori retail and repair store. In 1892, Seikosha was established to make wall clocks, and 1895 saw the production of their first pocket watch. 1913 saw the launch of their first wristwatch, the Laurel. In 1924, the first Seiko was manufactured. Daini Seikosha (now Seiko Instruments Inc.) was established in 1937. Seiko was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 1949. The Suwa factory became independent and formed Suwa Seikosha Co., Ltd. (now Seiko Epson Corporation in 1959). In 1956, Seiko launched Marvel as their first true in-house-made watch; they continued to make this watch until 1959. Japan’s first chronograph watch was introduced for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics; it was called the Seiko Crown Chronograph monopusher. Not stopping there, Seiko launched Japan's first true divers' watch, the Seiko Diver’s 150M fitted with the automatic Calibre 6217, which later was given the nickname “62MAS” by collectors. The company name was changed to the Seiko Corporation in 1990. Innovation at Seiko continues today with GPS Solar watches.
