Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Farer Box & Paperwork. The watch comes paired with its 20mm quick-release blue rubber strap with a signed buckle. The watch is from July 2020 and is in fantastic condition as you can see from the photos, likely worn only a handful of times altogether. The watch comes with our 12-Months Warranty.

The Watch

Here we have a Farer Cresta Hand-Wound Chronograph inspired by the toboggan track in St Moritz, Switzerland called the Cresta Run. The stylish 41mm “C” shaped stainless steel case has circular and horizontal brushing, a lug-to-lug length of 46mm and a case thickness of 13.5mm giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. Down the right side, we have piston-style pushers and a signed crown in the centre, the fixed polished bezel has a blue anodised aluminium Tachymeter scale insert. The domed sapphire crystal sits above a striking blue dial, an outer minute track is precisely executed with red numerals. Arabic numeral indices coated in Super-LumiNova Grade A luminance for that vintage aesthetic, a “Big Eye” 30-minute register in white at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour register at 6 o’clock and finally a continuous 60-second register each slightly recessed adding depth and interest to this speed-orientated timepiece, dauphine's hands infilled with Super-LumiNova Grade A luminance complemented by a cyan chronograph hand completes this perfectly balanced sports watch. At 12 o’clock we have the Farer motif and at 6 o’clock Chronograph. On the reverse a screwed-down exhibition case back, inside a manually wound Sellita SW510 BH, 23 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour. Based on the SW500-1 an alternative to the ETA/Valjoux 7750 movement, decorated with repeating Farer ``A” logo in a geometric wave pattern and blued screws. The watch comes fitted on its 20mm quick-release blue rubber strap with a signed buckle and also comes with its Farer presentation box and paperwork.

Personal Note

This watch offers incredible value for money in the world of mechanical chronographs, especially for manually wound. Pair that with the incredible design and brilliant proportions on the wrist, and this is another big win from Farer. If you are in the market for a chronograph I'd highly recommend booking an appointment and trying this one.

The Brand

In 2015 Farer, an independent British watch brand was founded by Stuart Finlayson, Jono Holt, Ben Lewin, and Paul Sweetenham. Operating out of Ascot, Berkshire in the UK. All having a passion for watches, their first creations were 9 quartz watches. In 2016 they launched three automatic watches naming them after British Royal Navy ships. Building on this success in 2019 they released two land speed record-themed watches and later a collection of chronographs.
