This watch is sold with its original Bell & Ross box and paperwork. The watch comes paired on a nice-fitting 24mm rubber strap with its original signed black PVD buckle, an additional strap is included. The watch is from December 2020 and is sold in worn condition, but overall this is in fantastic, original condition as you can see. The watch comes with our 12-Months Warranty.
The Watch
Here we have a 2020 Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Bi-Compass with a 42mm matte Black Ceramic square case, inspired by analogue instrumentation dials found in aircraft cockpits., the watch is limited to 999 pieces, of which ours is number 020. Stubby drilled lugs with a lug-to-lug length of 51mm and a case thickness of 10.5mm give the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side is a screw-down signed crown deep knurling gives you a better grip, four screws populate the corners with a stepped smooth bezel holding an AR-coated sapphire crystal. The two-tier matte black dial comprises an upper yellow 60-minute scale with the minute chapter ring precisely printed around its lower edge, large Arabic numerals 12, 3, 6 and 9 and baton indexes are thickly coated in a green SuperLumiNova marking the hours. Between the 4 and 5, we have a small date window. The arrow and sword “coquille d’oeuf'' hands are coated in the same SuperLumiNova colours of yellow and green complimenting a yellow-tipped sweeping second hand. At 12 o’clock we have the Bell & Ross motif completing this stealthy sports watch. On the reverse a screwed-down case back, inside an Automatic Bell & Ross BR-CAL.302, 25 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour, the movement has a base of the Sellita SW300-1. The watch comes with a fitted 24mm black rubber strap with a black PVD-signed buckle and comes with its Bell & Ross presentation box and paperwork.
Personal Note
Bell & Ross is a brand that has its own design ethos and sticks true to it and its a design you either love or hate, I personally love their designs and always find it refreshing when a brand sticks true to what they do well, in this case, it is aviation inspired square watches! Plus, this is truly a special reference and one I suspect you won't see too often if ever in the metal!
The Brand
It was founded in 1992 as a project at the university between two close friends, Bruno Belamich (Bell) and Carlos A. Rosillo (Ross). As a French watch company based in Paris, they have their manufacturing in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland the company's watches were originally produced by the German company Sinn, but this partnership ended in 2002 soon after Chanel became a minority shareholder, and production was quickly moved to Switzerland. In 1992, Bell & Ross started supplying pilot watches to the French air force, the company is the official watch supplier to the Escadron de Chasse La Fayette and the French space program. In 2016, Bell & Ross began working with French automaker Renault to create watches that reflect the visual appearance of Formula 1 racing cars. The Bell & Ross Space 1 was the first automatic chronometer to be worn in space in 1994 The Bell & Ross Hydromax 11 100 M was the Guinness World Record holder for wristwatch water resistance at 11,000 metres in 1998.
