Here we have the charismatic 2019 Montblanc TimeWalker Automatic Date 116058, featuring a 41mm brushed stainless steel case that curves over your wrist with thick, tapered flat-ended lugs. It's curved, brushed flanks have interesting hollowed-out sections at the lugs, creating a masculine profile, leading to a lug-to-lug length of 50mm and a case thickness of 11mm, ensuring a comfortable fit. On the right side is a black DLC-coated hobnailed, knurled crown. A slim, black, polished DLC-coated hobnailed unidirectional 12-hour bezel holds a flat sapphire crystal above a sunburst silver dial. A black outer minute chapter ring with lume plots at the hour, surrounds black polished Arabic numerals and markings in between mark the hours, at 3 o’clock a date window, black ploished Dauphine hands filled with lume are complemented by a tapered red sweeping second hand, at noon we have the Montblanc motif, ‘ Timefwalker’ in red and at 6 o’clock ‘Automatic’ completes this distinctive versatile timepiece. On the reverse, a screwed-down sapphire exhibition case back displays the watch's details around its edge, featuring an automatic Montblanc Cal. MB 24.17, 25 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, based on the Sellita SW200-1a. It comes paired with its 20mm Montblanc padded sports-style leather strap and signed pin buckle. I have been fortunate enough to have sold multiple Montblanc watches, and they really do punch above their pre-owned prices. This is the Montblanc TimeWalker Automatic Date in 41mm, reference 116058. The design is simple yet executed really well, with subtle pops of red on the dial and the grills in the side of the case. I would not bypass Montblanc if you are considering a new watch!

Montblanc has been creating Nicolas Rieussec chronographs in Le Locle since 2008. These stunning chronographs encapsulate an alternative way to read the time, with models that feature two rotating discs with static hands. Since 2015, Davide Cerrato has been the managing director of their “watch division”. He brings with him experience from Panerai and Tudor, where he was in charge of marketing, design and product development.
