The Watch

BOLDR Supply Co. was founded by Travis Tan and Leon Leong, and Isa Ghani in 2015. Based in Singapore and Malaysia. Making watches and apparel for modern urban adventurers. They started as a kick-starter project, and they have not looked back since their success. You can find them online and in brick and mortar stores in Paris, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Seoul.

BOLDR describes the Expedition as “a perfect combination of ruggedness and striking looks”. Mount Rushmore is an iconic monument created by Danish architect Gutzon Borglum and Chief Carver Luigi del Bianco. In Keystone, South Dakota, the four presidents depict the stages of growth the USA has historically experienced. Birth (Washington), Growth (Jefferson), Development (Lincoln), and Preservation (Roosevelt).

Our BOLDR Expedition Rushmore has a 41mm 316L Stainless steel tonneau case. The bead-blasted finish is non-reflective and very durable. Reminiscent of military field watches such as the Hamilton MIL-W-46374 of the 1960s. A lug to lug length of 48mm and a thickness of 14mm gives the watch excellent wrist presence. On the right side, two screw-down crowns with an embossed BOLDR logo. The upper crown adjusts the inner bi-directional bezel. A flat fixed bezel has bevelled edges and notches. The double domed sapphire crystal has an AR coating. A matte black field dial has the 60-minute inner bezel coated in Swiss Superluminova BGW9+C3. It can be used in many ways as a countdown, time elapsed, a second-time zone or a compass. Arabic numeral and baton indices mark the hours, coated in the same Swiss Superluminova BGW9 +C3. Smaller 24-hour numerals are painted for an easy to read field watch. At  4 o’clock a date window. Broad custom hands are coated in Swiss Superluminova BGW9 +C3. When fully charged, you have a combination of green and blue luminescence. On the reverse,  a limited designer artwork embossed boot tread in the middle of a maze. Inside an Automatic Sellita SW-200-1, 26 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour. The movement has hand winding and hacking functionality. The watch comes on a 20mm Green custom moulded rubber strap with tyre track patterning and a signed buckle. Comes with its BOLDR presentation box and papers.

Personal Note

Boldr is doing some cracking watches and incredible prices, this being a perfect example of that and a watch that absolutely dominated the Seiko Alpinist on the spec sheet and in design in my humble opinion. Someone clearly agreed as it was gone before it even landed!
