The Watch

Seikos history began in 1881 when Kintaro Hattori established the K. Hattori retail and repair store. In 1892 Seikosha was established making wall clocks. 1895 saw the production of their first pocket watch. 1913 saw the launch of their first wristwatch, the Laurel. In 1924 the first Seiko was manufactured. Daini Seikosha (now Seiko Instruments Inc.) was established in 1937. Seiko was listed on the Tokyo stock exchange in 1949. The Suwa factory became independent and formed Suwa Seikosha Co., Ltd. (now Seiko Epson Corporation in 1959).

Seiko first launched the Cocktail Time in 2010, it was created in partnership with Shinobu Ishigaki, who is one of the world's most highly regarded cocktail makers, and the owner of a bar in the Shibuya district, Tokyo, he has been featured on Anthony Bourdain's series, "No Reservations," his elaborate cocktails were the inspiration behind the original Cocktail Time watches, with their flamboyant and colourful sunburst dials.

Here we have a stunning rose gold plated 40.5mm 2018 Seiko Presage "Cocktail Time" SRPB46J1. Its brushed and polished surfaces transition effortlessly to the tapering lugs. A lug to lug length of 47.5mm ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist. On the right side a large crown, making adjustments a breeze. Its polished bezel; holds a domed Hardlex crystal. The mocha coloured textured dial has a deep radiating pattern that catches the light perfectly. Fine gold plated dagger indexes mark the hours. At 3 o’clock a date window. Elegant Dauphine hands and a long tapering center seconds hand, give the watch a classic vintage look and feel. On the reverse, we have a screw-down exhibition case. Inside an Automatic Seiko Cal.4R35, 23 jewels, beating at 21,600 beats per hour. Fitted on its original Seiko 20mm leather strap with a signed buckle.
