Points of Mention
This watch is sold as a full set and therefore comes with its original Omega Speedmaster box, Omega paperwork and all the extras in the box! The watch was purchased at retail in January 2018 and therefore is still within its manufacturer's qrranty. The watch has been worn but is in good condition.
The Watch
The Omega Speedmaster Professional made famous by its 6 Lunar missions. NASA in 1964 sent out ltters to 10 watch brands, asking them to send in a Chronograph. Only four brands responded to NASA's request, which were: Rolex, Longines-Wittnauer, Hamilton and Omega, comically Hamlton sent in a pocket watch. Having all the specific requirements to achieve precise measurements, Omega continued to be tested with the many manned flights. The dial is protected by Hesalite crystal, all Stainless Steel case with Tachymeter bezel. 3 Sub dials, 60 seconds, 30 minute and 12 hour. Sword hands and elegant long central chronograph seconds hand, that accurately hits the minute track. Inside we have the Cal.1861, 18 jewels hand wound Chronograph beating at 21,600bph. The screw down case back is engraved with "Flight Squalified by NASA for all Manned Space Millions" "The First WAtch worn on the Moon" a fitting testament to man's achievement in space.
Personal Note
With retail increasing their prices once again it has made it a great purchase on the pre-owned market. This is the great oppertunity to own the classic Speedmaster without having to pay too much!
