Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original NOMOS presentation box. The watch is paired with a well-suited leather strap with a Nomos buckle fitted, the original worn strap is provided in the box. The watch is from August 2018 and is sold in worn, a full polish can be provided at an additional cost. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

The Watch

Nomos was founded in 1990, just after Germany’s reunification happened with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the USSR collapsed. Based in the Glashutte region, it takes inspiration from the Bauhaus design movement. To have Glashutte on the dial, Nomos has to meet stringent quality standards. They must create at least 50% of the watch calibre in Glashutte to receive the title of being a true Glashutte watch. They only use in-house manufactured movements built up to 95% in the region, surpassing that requirement.

Here we have a 2018 Nomos Tangente 33 with a 33mm polished stainless steel case. Elegant thin angled lugs with a lug to lug length of 42mm and a thickness of just 6.5mm ensure the watch a comfortable fit. A flat polished bezel holds a sapphire crystal over a galvanised white silver-plated dial. An outer minute track has plots at the hours with numeral and baton indexes marking the hours. Its Bauhaus-infused aesthetic is pleasing to the eye. Thin sword hands are thermally blued after being heated to 290c. At 6 o’clock a small seconds register with a concentric circular pattern. Its simplicity and elegance make this watch stand out from the crowd. On the reverse, a screwed-down exhibition case back. Inside a Manually Wound Nomos "Alpha" this was their first in-house movement, adjusted to Chronometer standards. 17 Jewels, 21,600 beats per hour. Decorated beautifully with Glashütte stripes and thermally blued screws. Features their in-house “Swing System” Escapement which was first introduced at BaselWorld 2014. The watch comes fitted on a 17mm leather strap.

Personal Note

For me this is the perfect unisex watch, I'd happily gift this to my wife and steal it from her watch box every now and again, it wears so well on any size wrist and the 33mm might sound daunting for some guys out there, but honestly give it a try and some time on the wrist, you'll be surprised!
