The Watch
For something quite quirky we have here a 2018 Bamford x Peanuts x Andre M Limited edition. Made in partnership with one of the world’s most beloved cartoon characters, this special edition is part of the Bamford Mayfair Peanuts Global Artist Collective. The unique dial is created by graffiti artist, André Saraiva, Mr. A’s image of Snoopy is striking. Saraiva is best known by his graffiti-artist alter ego, Mr. A who also makes an appearance on the watch, complete with his signature wink and love hearts. The dial features a thoughtful quote “life is a dream”.
The 42mm tonneau stainless steel case has Military Grade Titanium Coating (MGTC). A crown is protected by shoulders. The rotating ceramic bezel has a 12-hour scale. A flat crystal sits above the crisp white dial. The outer minute track is clearly printed in black. Ladder sword hands are complemented by a red seconds hand. On the reverse, a screw-down case back. Inside a Miyota quartz 2035. The watch comes fitted on a 20mm leather strap with red stitches. Comes with its Bamford presentation box and papers.
Personal Note
A watch that certainly won't be for everyone and that's ok, Bamford really does push the boundaries in terms of design and they aren't forgiving when they do it. This is exactly one of those watches and I wish more brands would take a page out of Bamford's book with regards to testing limits and boundaries, even if it doesn't work out it's refreshing in a world of re-editions and remakes...
