This watch is sold with its original Unimatic box and original Unimatic paperwork. The watch comes paired on its original 22mm LVR blue Italian leather strap and an LVR blue Unimatic heavy-duty nylon two-piece strap with bead-blasted Stainless Steel signed buckle. The watch is from Circa. 2017 and is sold in worn condition but is overall very good, as you can see from the photos. The watch comes with our 12-Months Warranty.
The Watch
Here we have a 2017 Unimatic Early Limited Edition of 50 U1-DL designed in collaboration with Luisaviaroma (also known as Luisa Via Roma or LVR), a luxury clothing retailer since 1920 based in Florence, Italy. A 41mm bead blasted 316L stainless steel case curves over your wrist with a lug-to-lug length of 48.5mm and a case thickness of 13.5mm giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. Down the right side is a signed screw-down crown protected by crown guards, the unidirectional bezel has an LVR blue insert with large numerals and lume pip at 12 all coated in white C1 Super-LumiNova. A double-domed sapphire crystal is AR coated on the inside, the LVR blue dial with markers and hour pips coated in White C1 Super-LumiNova lume. Ladder phantom hands and reversed lollipop seconds hand are coated in the same White C1 Super-LumiNova lume. On the reverse a screw-down case back with the Unimatic conversion scale, number out of 50 and LVR website engraved into it. Beating inside automatic Seiko NH35A movement tuned to 21,600 bph hand winding and hacking seconds hand. The watch comes with a 22mm LVR blue Italian leather strap and an LVR blue Unimatic heavy-duty nylon two-piece strap with bead-blasted Stainless Steel signed buckle.
Personal Note
These early Unimatic are truly wonderful and it's great to see how the brand has developed and progressed, their true core design and build quality has been great from the start and this is a testament to that. I suspect these will continue to grow in collectibility, especially as the brand continues to grow, who knows where they will be in the next 20 years!
The Brand
Made in Italy, Unimatic was founded by Giovanni Moro and Simone Nunziato. They were both trained as industrial designers at “Politecnico di Milano” where they shared a common interest and passion in wristwatches. They started Unimatic in 2015 with their first product, “Modello Uno”.
