Nomos was founded in 1990, just after Germany’s reunification happened with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the USSR collapsed. Based in the Glashutte region, it takes inspiration from the Bauhaus design movement. To have Glashutte on the dial, Nomos has to meet stringent quality standards. They must create at least 50% of the watch caliber in Glashutte to receive the title of being a true Glashutte watch. They only use in-house manufactured movements built up to 95% in the region, surpassing that requirement.
The 39mm 18ct Rose Gold case effortlessly flows towards the slim straight lugs. Lug to lug length and a thickness of just 9mm ensure a comfortable fit on your wrist. On the right side is a signed crown. A fine bezel holds the flat sapphire crystal. The detailing to the dial is simple yet beautiful, the rose gold gives the watch a warm tone only adding depth to the white dial, the larger crescent records the 84-hour power reserve, a lower sub-second register. Elegant fine blued hands complement the exquisite dial. Text is precisely printed. On the reverse, an exhibition case back. Inside a Manually Wound Nomos DUW 1001, 29 jewels, 21,600 beats per hour. This in-house movement is finished to a level that those who have seen German finishing before would recognise in a second. Hand finished Glashütte striping and blued screws. The watch comes fitted on its NOMOS 20mm leather strap with a signed rose gold buckle and comes with its NOMOS presentation box and papers.
