Here we have an incredible 2017 H.Moser & Cie Pioneer Perpetual Calendar Midnight Blue 3800-1200 featuring a 43mm high polished and brushed stainless steel case that gently flows over your wrist with thick tapered lugs. The brushed scalloped flanks have an attractive ribbed pattern for a sporty aesthetic, leading to a lug-to-lug length of 51mm and a case thickness of 14.5mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side is a signed double pull crown, used to correct the date without disturbing the time setting, and on the left side in the centre a recessed pusher to adjust the month hand (pusher tool included). The polished smooth bezel holds a domed sapphire crystal above the incredible Midnight blue fumé dial. An outer chapter ring has lume pips at the hour surrounding applied polished steel faceted indexes marking the hours; at 3 o’clock a framed date window, attractive polished skeletonised hands filled with SuperLumiNova; a small skeletonised hand indicates the month, cleverly using the outer facet indexes, and can be adjusted forwards and backwards at any time; on the left edge we have a 7-day power reserve indicator; at 6 o’ clock a running seconds sub dial with a concentric circular centre; the Moser & Cie motif completes this visually inspiring Perpetual Calandar timepiece. On the reverse, a screwed-down sapphire exhibition case back showcases the in-house manually wound Moser Cal. HMC 800, 32 jewels, beating at a leisurely 18,000 beats per hour, hacking seconds, two large barrels, Straumann Hairspring with a gold pallet fork and escapement and a Leap Year indicator. The movement based on the H. Moser & Cie HMC 341 is tastefully hand-decorated in Moser double stripes. The watch comes paired with its 22mm H.Moser & Cie H-link brushed stainless steel bracelet secured by a signed push-button deployant clasp; it will fit up to a 7.15-inch wrist, plus four HMC straps with one HMC buckle; three HMC leather (2 XL and 1 Standard) and 1 22mm HMC rubber strap. Heinrich Moser, born in Schaffhausen, founded H. Moser & Cie. in 1828. As a young entrepreneur, he quickly learnt about the watchmaking profession. He found himself in St.Petersburg and soon became “the specialist” for its aristocracy. They built a factory employing several hundred craftspeople in Switzerland. He produced around 500,000 watches during his lifetime. The watches ranged from three-hand watches to incredible “grande complications”. Heinrich was passionate and deeply involved in the industrialisation of Schaffhausen, including the building of the first Swiss dam, which featured an innovative hydro-mechanical turbine to produce energy for the machinery used in watch production. Due to the “quartz crisis,” they became a part of the Dixi Mechanique Group. Their original brand name was changed, becoming "Hy Moser & Cie". In 2002, Dr Jürgen Lange and Heinrich Moser's great-grandson Roger Nicholas Balsiger, founded Moser Schaffhausen AG. In 2005, they built a new factory in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, and H. Moser & Cie's trademark was formally re-launched. The MELB Holding Group has owned H. Moser & Cie, CEO, the former boss at Audemars Piguet, Georges-Henri Meylan. They have been based in Le Brassus in Switzerland since 2012.
