The Watch
Founded in 2005 by Mike France, Peter Ellis, and Christopher Ward, they started the world's first online-only watch brand. July 2nd, 2014 saw the announcement to a genuinely astonishing watch industry their own in-house movement, Calibre SH21, the first commercially viable mechanical movement from a British watch brand in over 50 years.
Inspired by the use of bronze in maritime history, the C60 Trident Pro 600 has a 43mm CuSn6 marine grade bronze case with curves in all the right places. A bronze bezel with high relief Arabic numerals. Flat sapphire crystal protects the deep blue dial with “old Radium” Super-Luminova applied baton indices, a small date window at 3 o’clock. The minute and hour hands have the same “old Radium” Super-Luminova giving real character; a center seconds hand has the Christopher Ward Trident, which continues the maritime theme. We have a stainless steel screw-down case back with the trident embossed sitting on the rear’s wavy pattern. A screw-down crown and case back provide 600m/2000ft water resistance. Inside an Automatic Sellita SW-200, 26 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour. A robust and reliable movement. The watch comes fitted on a Christopher Ward 22mm vintage oak leather strap with a matching signed bronze buckle. Plus two other Christopher Ward 22mm straps with their bronze signed buckles.
Personal Note
These are truly great, whilst I personally prefer the slightly smaller reference, this really does tick a lot of boxes! Especially for those with larger wrists or those who just enjoy a larger watch, plus the presence of Bronze really adds some weight!
