Description

Here we have a 2017 Bremont U2/T For Timeless Limited Edition, limited to just 100 pieces, one of their first collaborations with Texas-based Timeless Luxury Watches, inspired by World War II pilot watches. Featuring a sculpted 43mm brushed hardened stainless steel round case uses the Bremont Trip-Tick construction system made up of 3 parts: a hardened steel bezel, a middle section bronze PVD barrel and finally, a steel case back, and a 49.5mm lug-to-lug length and a case thickness of 14.5mm give the watch an impressive wrist presence, and on the right side, at 2 o'clock, a screw-down crown to adjust the time and date and at 4 o'clock, a screw-down crown capped with a USAF-inspired star, for adjusting the bidirectional 12-hour Roto-Click bezel, both have deep knurling making gripping them even with gloves on a satisfying experience. The brushed hardened bezel holds a domed sapphire crystal with AR coating on both sides, significantly reducing reflections. The gunmetal grey no-date dial features thick beige-coloured Super-LumiNova-coated Arabic numerals and batons for the hours and blued-steel sword-shaped watch hands, alongside a blued-steel sweeping seconds hand with a red arrow tip. At noon, we have the Bremont motif, completing this striking vintage-inspired pilot's watch. On the reverse, a stainless steel screwed-in by six-screws is engraved with the details of the watch and its limited number, inside suspended between a rubber sandwich, we have the movement; this acts as a Faraday cage, making it both anti-magnetic and very shock absorbent. A Bremont automatic BE-36AE, 25 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour COSC certified to ISO 3159 standard, made up of an Anachron balance spring, Nivaflex 1 mainspring with a moulded skeletonised rotor. The watch is paired with a 22mm Bremont leather strap with a signed buckle, along with its Bremont presentation box, travel pouch, COSC Certificate and paperwork.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Bremont presentation box, travel pouch, and COSC certification. The watch comes paired with its original 22mm Bremont leather strap with its signed buckle. The watch is from July 2017 and is sold in worn but overall it is in very fair condition, as you can see from the photographs. The watch comes with our 12-Months Warranty.

Personal Note

With the shift in design and focus that Bremont has taken, I am even more keen on these older references, and this limited edition of just 100 pieces for Timeless is no exception. This Bremont U2/T comes in a surprisingly wearable 43mm case with their two crown design, one for rotating the inner bezel and the other for working the watch. The "Trip-Tick" construction system is made up of 3 parts: a hardened steel bezel, a middle section bronze PVD barrel and finally, a steel case back. I would not hesitate to book an appointment and try this watch on for yourself!

About Bremont

Bremont was founded in 2002 by the brothers Nick and Giles English. Their watch designs are inspired by their love of flying and everything mechanical. During the 1990s, while flying their 1930s biplane over France, they got into trouble and had to land in a field. Not wishing to get the authorities involved, they were met by the farm owner, who gave them and the plane shelter. It turned out he had flown during the war and was an engineer. The brothers, grateful to the kind farmer, promised him they would never forget him. His name was Antoine Bremont. In 1995, they were involved in an accident and sadly lost their father, Dr Euan English, while flying their World War II-vintage Harvard aircraft. His loss and their injuries drove the brothers to create a fitting legacy. Moving into their Manufacturing & Technology Centre in 2021. Innovation and producing technologically advanced timepieces have been an ever-expanding experience for Bremont. Their military connections, through special-edition watches and tireless work with Help for Heroes and The Royal British Legion, mean their late fathers' legacy will continue to grow. They have a number of investors, including Bill Ackman and Hellcat LP, who increased their investment since 2023. Nicholas English has remained as Secretary after resigning as Director, while his brother, Giles, has resigned as Director in May 2024 and left the company.
