The commanding 48mm sandblasted carbon fibre case is constructed like a beautiful, lightweight tank, ensuring that despite its hyper dimensions, the watch remains surprisingly light and nimble on the wrist. This certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted and, at 48mm, has to be one of the biggest watches I’ve ever sold. It’s absolutely crazy! But that craziness is exactly what makes it so interesting. Alessandro Baldieri is an Italian-born designer who was educated in Rome and the United States. He transitioned from international interior architecture to watchmaking, fulfilling a lifelong ambition to create timepieces that reflect his personal style. Baldieri launched his debut collection under his own name in 2006. Before entering the watch industry, he spent over 20 years as a prominent interior and furniture designer, gaining international recognition for his work on upscale residences for Hollywood stars such as Nicolas Cage and Lionel Richie. Baldieri quickly established corporate partnerships in major design hubs, including Milan, London, and Singapore. His designs are heavily influenced by his background in structural design. He aimed to break away from conventional drafting standards, focusing on "designs from the heart" that emphasise strong physical proportions, textured dials, and premium materials such as carbon fibre, bronze, and fine Italian leather straps. Baldieri, intrigued by automotive and aerospace manufacturing, established the ITAnano Technology R&D team in Milan in 2011 to explore ultra-light carbon composites used in Formula 1 cars and military jets. He has since been a creative force behind sister sub-brands, including Trifoglio Italia and Squall Watch.
