The watch is from Circa. 2016 and has the original B1 crown and a newer B2/B3 blue dial from the Bronze Beater model which has replaced the original green dial, the hands are the original skeletonised hands of the B1 without the “signs of life” second-hand centre disc and is sold in worn condition, but fair condition for its age as you can see from the photos. The Watch
Here we have a 2016 Schofield Beater MK1 with a 45mm Titanium case, that has been blued at high temperatures and then oiled. Its hand-finished industrial design adds character and uniqueness to the watch, sloping wide screw-in lugs with a lug-to-lug length of 52.5mm and a thickness of 14.5mm give the watch an excellent wrist presence. On the right side, is a deeply knurled original B1 crown, a smooth bezel holds a flat sapphire crystal AR coated, the two-tone blue dial is the newer B2/B3 version from the Bronze Beater model which has replaced the original green dial and reflects the night sky and the deep blue ocean depths, gilt-framed numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9 have dagger indexes in between marking the hours coated in SuperLuminova C3. An inner minute track is clearly printed in gilt finishing, and the original B1 skeletonised sword hands have SuperLumiNova tips. At 12 o’clock the Schofield motif and at 6 o’clock a red “B” Beater. On the reverse, a screw-down exhibition case back, inside an automatic NOS Synchron ETA movement. The watch comes fitted on its 24mm Schofield strap with a signed buckle and also comes with its Schofield presentation box and papers.
Personal Note
Schofield is a brand we have stocked and sold multiple times and I am always impressed with the design and attention to detail that Giles goes to, it is evident this comes from a place of passion for design and watches and this is why Schofield has built a core group of collectors who own multiple. If you've not experienced a Schofield yet I'd recommend booking an appointment and trying them on for yourself.
The Brand
In 2011 at Salon QP in London, Giles Ellis introduced the world to his Schofield brand. He is based just north of Brighton in Sussex on the south coast of the UK. He is part of the British watchmaking revival.
