Here we have an early 2015 Tissot PRS 516 Automatic Blue 42mm on Bracelet (Ref. T044.430.21.041.00), a dynamically styled and nostalgia-fueled Swiss sports watch that draws direct inspiration from the adrenaline-fueled world of 1960s motorsport. This beautifully executed timepiece pays modern homage to Tissot’s historic PR 516 series, seamlessly blending retro racing aesthetics with contemporary build specifications. The 42mm 316L stainless steel case introduces a clean, angular architecture that sits exceptionally well on the wrist. Boasting a versatile case thickness of 11.5mm and a well-proportioned lug-to-lug length of 50mm, it delivers an incredibly balanced, ergonomic wrist presence. The case features sharp, flat surfaces and integrated crown guards, capped by a stealthy black PVD-coated fixed bezel displaying a crisp silver tachymeter scale. A signed pull-out crown and a unique exhibition case back. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal sits flush over a deeply captivating, vibrant blue dial. The layout provides a high-contrast aesthetic, utilising a distinct, multi-layered design with a white chapter ring and applied geometric hour markers infilled with lume. For clean daily utility, a day-date window sits neatly at 3 o'clock. The athletic layout features a bright red, racing-needle seconds hand, while the primary hands and indices are filled with premium Swiss Super-LumiNova for exceptional low-light legibility. On the reverse, the sapphire crystal case back features a stylised cutout shaped like a historic three-spoke sports-car steering wheel, partially revealing the mechanics beating beneath. Inside lies the premium, Swiss-made automatic ETA Cal. 2836-2 movement, a legendary industry workhorse operating at a high-beat frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz). Utilising 25 jewels, this self-winding calibre delivers hacking seconds and quickset day-date functionality. The watch comes paired with its original 20mm Tissot stainless steel 3 link bracelet and a signed push-button butterfly clasp. Personal Note

For the money, I genuinely think this is still a ridiculously good Tissot! The PRS 516 range has always had some fantastic designs, and this particular example is a brilliant reminder of just how much watch you can get without spending a fortune. That blue dial is absolutely stunning, especially with the contrasting white chapter ring and little pop of red from the seconds hand. It's a fantastic colour combination, and one that really comes alive on the wrist. But it's the smaller details that I particularly love, especially that brilliant exhibition case back designed to resemble a classic three-spoke racing steering wheel. Such a cool little touch that ties everything back to the watch's motorsport heritage. Add in the dependable ETA automatic movement and original bracelet, and you've got an awful lot of watch for the money. Add it to your collection today!

About Tissot

The Swiss luxury watch company Tissot from Le Locle, Switzerland, was established in 1853 by Charles Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile. Under Charles-Emile’s direction, they manufactured pocket watches with parts from Russia and the United States. In 1915, the company began producing wristwatches. Between 1920 and 1977, Tissot produced its movements. In 1930, to survive the 1929 crash and economic crisis, they agreed with Omega to form the SSIH Group, which 53 years later became the Swatch Group.
