This watch is sold with its original Laco Box & Paperwork. The watch comes paired on its original Laco leather strap with a signed buckle. The watch is from August 2015 and is in fantastic condition as you can see from the photos, likely worn only a handful of times altogether. The watch comes with our 12-Months Warranty.
The Watch
Laco was founded in 1925 by Frieda Lacher and Ludwig Hummel in Pforzheim, Germany under the name Lacher & Co. Towards the end of WW2 the RAF bombed the city devastating the businesses and homes of the population. Under the USA “Marshall Plan” the city was able to rebuild itself and Laco built a 5 story factory that specialised in pilot watches. In 1961 the company was sold to Timex and managed to survive the Quartz crisis of the 1970s and today still produces pilot-themed watches.
Here we have a Laco Pilot Watch Original Type B - 861747 Leipzig with a sandblasted 42mm stainless steel case. Inspired by their pilot watches of the past. Flat-ended lugs with a lug to lug length and a case thickness ensures a comfortable fit on your wrist. On the right side is an onion-style crown with deep knurling for extra grip. A domed sapphire crystal AR coated on the inside sits above a black dial. An outer minute track coated in C3 SuperLumiNova with large Arabic numerals with luminance painted on the 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50. An inner ring with Arabic numerals and lume pips at the hours. Blued Sword hands coated in C3 SuperLumiNova complemented by a tapered second hand. A broad arrow sits at 12 o’clock completing this classic pilot's watch. On the reverse a snap-off case back with details of the watch engraved in German. Inside a Manual Laco 210 based on the Sellita 210-1 movement. The watch comes fitted on a 20mm Laco brown calf leather strap with rivets and a signed buckle. The watch also comes with its Laco presentation box and papers.
Personal Note
At 42.5mm this is the perfect Pilot watch for anyone who wants to get that true Flieger feel on the wrist but doesn't have a huge wrist to support the usual 46mm+ cases that brands direct towards! I wouldn't hesitate on this, lots of value for the money!
