Here we have a 2012 TAG Heuer Carrera Jack Heuer 80th Anniversary Limited to 1100/3000 pieces, made to celebrate Jack Heuers' 80th Birthday, inspired by his 1963 Heuer Carrera, the 41mm polished stainless steel case curves over your wrist with angled tapered flat-ended lugs, a lug-to-length of 49mm and a case thickness of 13.5mm ensuring a comfortable fit. Down the right side, we have the piston-style chronograph pushers and a signed crown in the centre. A stepped smooth bezel holds a domed sapphire crystal above a brushed silver bi-compax dial, a grey Tachymeter scale with a red “80” as a nod to his birthday surrounds a 60-minute scale above applied baton indexes marking the hours, at 3 o’clock, a continuous seconds register, at 6 o’clock a framed date window and finally at 9 o’clock a 30-minute register, each in black and slightly recessed and precisely executed with a red-tipped stick hand. Slender sword hands filled with SuperLumiNova are complemented by a tapered red chronograph hand; at 12 o’clock, we have the Carrera and red Heuer motif completing this vintage-inspired bi-compax. On the reverse, a screw-down case back with “Jack Heuer” signature in red and his family coat of arms engraved into it, inside an Automatic TAG Heuer Cal. 17, 37 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, based on the ETA 2894-2 with a chronograph module. The watch comes paired with a 20mm sports-style leather strap complete with a distinctive Heuer clasp, and this watch is sold with its original TAG Heuer box and paperwork.

This TAG Heuer Carrera 'Jack Heuer 80th Anniversary' Limited Edition was an instant success when initially released for the brand and has continued to be a great seller even today on the pre-owned market. The design is fantastic and this was a real taste as to what was to come for the brand and some of the incredible releases we have seen in recent years.
