Description

Here we have a classic 2010s Moritz Grossmann Tefnut Stainless Steel Cal. 202.0. It features a polished 38.5mm stainless steel round case that sits comfortably on your wrist, thanks to its finely tapered lugs. The curved, polished flanks lead to a lug-to-lug length of 45mm and a case thickness of just 8mm. On the right side, there is a coin-edged crown. The smooth, polished bezel holds a flat crystal above a stunning silver sector dial. An outer minute track surrounds the applied 12 and 6 with fine indexes in between, marking the hours. Delicate Moritz Grossmann hands sit majestically in the centre. At noon, the Moritz Grossmann motif completes this distinctive, sophisticated dress watch. On the reverse, a screwed-down exhibition case back engraved with the details of the watch around its edge, inside a stunning manually wound Moritz Grossmann Cal. 202.0, 26 jewels, beating at 21,600 beats per hour, made up of 188 components with the frame parts in untreated German silver,  fitted with a Nivarox 1 balance spring. Points of Mention

This watch is sold “Watch Only” and therefore comes without its Moritz Grossmann box or paperwork. The watch comes paired with its 20mm Moritz Grossmann leather strap and pin buckle. The watch is from Circa. Late 2010s, sold in worn condition, but overall fair condition, as you can see. A full case and buckle polish can be conducted at an additional cost on request. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

Personal Note

It is far from every day you see a Moritz Grossmann come up for sale, and this is due to incredibly limited production numbers of all their watches. In 2021, they announced their current production is 300 watches a year with the goal of producing up to 800 a year if possible. That is insanely low, with many major brands having limited editions of a single watch that dwarf that number. Wearing a Moritz Grossmann says you are a watch aficionado and care deeply about craftsmanship and being part of a legacy of watchmakers. I would not hesitate to add this incredible Moritz Grossmann Tefnut to your collection today, whilst you can!

About Moritz Grossmann

Moritz Grossmann, encouraged by his friend Ferdinand Adolph Lange of A. Lange & Söhne, he established his own watchmaking company in 1854. He developed precision lathes for watchmakers in Glashütte, focusing on lever escapements and the optimisation of pivoted detents for chronometers. The company became known for producing high-quality pocket watches and marine chronometers. Grossmann also founded the German School of Watchmaking in Glashütte. He passed away in 1885, and the brand remained dormant until 2008, when Christine Hutter acquired the rights to the name with the assistance of her family. Hutter is a qualified watchmaker with experience at Wempe and Maurice Lacroix, as well as working for both A. Lange & Söhne and Glashütte Original. In 2010, building started, and she completed the factory in Glashütte in 2013, which currently employs over 40 watchmakers.
