The Watch

Here we have a 2009 Oris TT1 Divers Automatic Black Wave 7533P with a 44mm brushed round stainless steel case that comfortably curves over your wrist towards the thick flat-ended lugs, a lug-to-lug length of 52mm and a case thickness of 12mm giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. A signed screw-down crown is found on the right side. The deeply knurled-edged bezel has a black dive bezel, with silver markings. A flat sapphire crystal sits above a black printed wavy patterned dial. An outer minute chapter ring is precisely marked above the arrowhead applied indexes marking the hours. Hands are infilled with lume complemented by a sweeping lollipop counterweighted second-hand, and at 6 o’clock a date window. On the reverse, a sapphire exhibition screw-down case back, inside an automatic Oris Cal. 733, 26 jewels, based on the Sellita SW200-1, it has a modified rotor and has hacking seconds and hand winding for your convenience. The watch comes paired with a brushed and polished Oris bracelet with a signed clasp, and fliplock and the watch comes with its Oris presentation box and paperwork.

Personal Note

The Oris model before the Oris Aquis, this is where it began and it looks truly incredible, I would say this feels like a wider and softer Oris Aquis, the "Dad-Bod" equivalent in the best of ways! It wears amazingly on the wrist despite the size, with a short lug-to-lug length and an integrated bracelet, it is no surprise Oris continued with this design into the Aquis!

The Brand

Oris was founded in 1904 by two men, Paul Cattin and Georges Christian. The name comes from a brook in the Swiss town of Hölstein, in a short period they became the largest employer in Hölstein. By 1929, they had a total of six factories. At the end of the 1960s, Oris became one of the world’s largest watch companies, producing approximately 1.2 million timepieces a year.
