Description

Here we have an iconic 2004 TAG Heuer Formula 1 Blue Quartz 35mm Reference WAC1212.BA0851. It features a distinctive, finely brushed 35mm stainless steel case framed by protective blue rubber bumpers along its flanks, radiating a rugged, racing-inspired utility. Short, robust lugs flow smoothly to a compact lug-to-lug length of 39mm and a slim case thickness of 9.5mm, ensuring a balanced and incredibly comfortable profile on the wrist. On the right side, a knurled black PVD-coated screw-down crown is deeply recessed and guarded against impact by blue crown guards. A prominent, unidirectional rotating black PVD bezel with raised numeric minute markers frames a flat, sapphire crystal above a striking electric blue sunburst dial. Bold, polished, oversized Arabic numerals mark the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions, paired with polished baton indices and hands heavily infilled with Super-LumiNova. A date window sits tucked between 4 and 5 o'clock, while the signature printed red, green, and white TAG Heuer shield motif at noon infuses pure motorsport DNA into the layout. On the reverse, a solid screwed-down case back proudly bears its unique serial number, sealing in a reliable ETA Quartz Cal. F05.111 movement. This high-performance Swiss quartz calibre ensures grab-and-go precision alongside exceptional battery autonomy. The watch comes paired with its original TAG Heuer 18mm satin-finished stainless steel three-link bracelet, secured by a signed folding deployant clasp with a diving extension and safety catch; all links are provided. This classic timepiece comes complete with its original TAG Heuer presentation box and paperwork.

Personal Note

It’s great to see neo-vintage TAG Heuer coming back into fashion and, more importantly, being enjoyed for the fun watches they are. This Formula 1 is a perfect example, bright blue, compact, slightly quirky and unmistakably from its era. For a long time, watches like this were overlooked in favour of the more obvious TAG Heuer references, but I think that’s exactly where the charm is. At 35mm, it wears brilliantly, the electric blue dial looks fantastic, and quartz makes it incredibly easy to grab and enjoy. A fun bit of early-2000s TAG Heuer that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Snap it up and add it to your collection today!
