2004 Breitling Colt Automatic 'Chronometre' Blue 38mm A17350

Here we have a 2004 Breitling Colt Automatic 'Chronometre' Blue A17350.
With a 38mm polished stainless steel case that gently curves towards tapered lugs, a lug-to-lug length of 43.5mm and a thickness of 12mm ensure an impressive, comfortable fit on the wrist. On the right side, a crown guard protects the screw-down signed crown. A unidirectional  60-minute bezel has domed screws around its edge to give you some surface to grip. Deep engraving and raised 15, 30, and 45-minute sections make this undoubtedly a Breitling Colt. Its flat, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal AR coating is recessed, adding some protection against knocks. Its blue matte dial has an interesting concentric circular pattern. An outer minute track surrounds applied polished baton indexes tipped with lume above the Arabic 24-hour numeral in white, adding a nice contrast to the dial.  At 3 o’clock, a framed date window. Broad sword hands and a sweeping tapered seconds hand with its square counterweight are filled in luminescence. At 12 o’clock, we have the Breitling winged motif, and at 6 o’clock, “Colt Chronometre Automatic 500m/1650ft” completes this dynamic sports dive watch. On the reverse, a screw-down case back with the high-relief Breitling logo in the centre and the details of the watch engraved around its edge. Inside an automatic Breitling Movement Cal.17 based on the ETA 2824-2, 26 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour. It comes paired with its Breitling 18mm 3-link polished and brushed stainless steel bracelet secured by a signed folding clasp and flip lock, and the watch comes with its Breitling presentation box and paperwork.

I don't believe there is an official consensus as to what year 'neo-vintage' begins but I hear people referring to the early 2000s as 'neo-vintage', which is crazy, but I guess it is now 20+ years ago. This Breitling Colt Automatic 'Chronometre' features a wonderful and subtle blue record-like texture to its dial and comes in a compact and comfortable 38mm case. This specific reference A17350 also comes with its box and paperwork, dating to May 2024, making it a great potential birth year watch for those into that sort of thing. Breitling was established in 1884 by Leon Breitling in the Swiss Jura Mountains. In 1915, Gaston Breitling introduced a pusher at 2 o’clock to start, stop and reset the chronograph. Leon later moved the reset to a pusher at 4 o’clock. In 1939, Breitling shipped a huge quantity of chronographs to the Royal Air Force. During the war with Germany surrounding Switzerland, Leon and some friends created a makeshift runway near their factory. Planes would use the car's headlights as a guide to land. Once on the ground, they were quickly loaded, taking off before the Germans knew what was going on. They introduced the “Navitimer” a navigation computer in 1952 used to calculate a flight plan. In 1969, they collaborated with Heuer, Burne, and Dubois-Depraz on a top-secret project called Project 99. Together, they developed one of the first self-winding chronograph movements. Breitling stands for high precision, outstanding performance, and functionality. During the early days of space exploration, Lt. Commander Scott Carpenter went around the earth three times whilst wearing a modified Navitimer. In 2017, they were sold to CVC Capital Partners, Europe's largest private equity firm.
