The Watch

Edouard Heuer founded The Heuer Watch Company in 1860 in St. Imier, Switzerland. Chronographs have been the mainstay for Heuer and later TAG Heuer. Featuring many models and configurations, expanding the possibilities to the full. In 1958 Jack Heuer, Edouard’s son, joined the company. In 1962 the first generation of Autavia was launched. Famously worn in the 1970s by Formula One drivers such as Derek Bell, Jacky Ickx, Emerson Fittipaldi, Clay Regazzoni and Mario Andretti, and many more. In 1999 TAG Heuer accepted a bid from LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A.

Our Re-Edition TAG Heuer Monza is inspired by a Heuer watch designed in 1933. It was a manual wind single pusher through the crown chronograph. This 38mm cushion stainless steel case is almost identical to the original except that one was only 33mm. Polished sides and brushed tops transition perfectly with crisp beveled edges. On the right side, an onion crown with the two pushers on either side. A flat sapphire crystal sits above the cream dial. Arabic 12 and facet-edged indexes mark the hours. As you rotate your wrist the dial and indexes catch the light perfectly. Between the 4 and 5 a date window. An outer minute track has lume pips at the hours. At 3 o’clock 60 seconds continuous register, at 6 o’clock a twelve-hour register, and finally at 9 o’clock a 30 minutes register, each recessed in a cushion shape like the case. The dial is well balanced and easy to read with the large registers. Sword’s hands are filled with LumiNova. Printed at 12 o’clock “HEUER” as a reminder of their heritage. On the reverse, a screwed-down case back with “HEUER” “by TAG HEUER” engraved into it. Inside an Automatic TAG Heuer Cal. 17, 37 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour. A module is added to the base ETA 2894-2. This is a precise and reliable movement. The watch comes fitted on a TAG Heuer 20mm Heuer black leather strap with a signed deployment clasp.

Personal Note

A highly underestimated offering from TAG Heuer and for those who are in the know they can truly appreciate this great timepiece. Another one that sold before it even had the chance of making it to the website.
