More Information

Description

Here we have a Sinn 756 Chronograph Automatic with a robust and purposeful 40mm bead-blasted stainless steel case that perfectly showcases the brand's signature tool-watch aesthetic and German engineering. The matte, utilitarian lines of the case offer a commanding yet compact presence on the wrist, while a lug-to-lug length of 47mm and a case thickness of 14mm reinforce its solid, instrument-inspired build. On the right side sits a signed screw-down crown flanked by crisp, integrated chronograph pushers. The fixed, bead-blasted bezel holds a flat sapphire crystal above a highly legible, sterile matte black dial. High-contrast, oversized white Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock dominate the layout, while recessed chronograph registers track the 12-hour and 30-minute readings. Broad, stark-white, sword-style hands and bold hour markers are coated with luminescence for absolute readability in any condition. Nestled at 4 o'clock, a discreet colour-matched date window blends into the dial, while the iconic "Sinn" motif sits proudly at 3 o'clock. On the reverse, a solid screw-down case back protects the legendary automatic Valjoux Cal. 7750 movement, a reliable workhorse beating at 28,800 beats per hour. The watch comes paired with its original bead-blasted 20mm stainless steel H-link bracelet featuring a signed deployant clasp and fliplock; it will fit up to a 7-inch wrist.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold as ‘Watch Only’ and therefore comes without its Sinn box or Sinn paperwork. The watch comes paired with its Sinn 20mm H-link satin-brushed stainless steel bracelet, signed folding clasp, and flip-lock; it will fit up to a 7-inch wrist. The watch is from Circa. 2000s and is sold in worn-and-enjoyed condition, with small scratches to the anti-reflective coating on the crystal and some discolouration around the crystal and case, as you can see, and comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

Personal Note

This isn't a perfect, collector-grade example, and I think it's important to be upfront about that. It has honest signs of wear from a life well lived, and we've priced it accordingly. What that means, though, is you get the opportunity to own a proper Sinn chronograph without paying the premium that the very best examples command. The fundamentals are all here: the superb bead-blasted case, the bombproof Valjoux 7750 movement, and the purposeful design that has made Sinn one of the most respected names in German tool watches. If you're looking for a watch to throw on and wear, this makes an enormous amount of sense. I would not hesitate to add it to your collection today!

About Sinn

In 1961, the pilot and flight instructor Helmet Sinn founded the Sinn watch company in Frankfurt am Main. Principally making watches that gave the user maximum functionality at a reasonable price. His Pilot watches became popular with his fellow pilots as they appreciated their build quality and precision. In 1985, Professor Dr Reinhard Furrer, a German physicist, could be seen wearing the 140 S model on his wrist during the D-1 space lab mission. They continued their exploration of space with the 142 S in 1992. This watch was worn by Dietrich Flade during the Mir-92 mission. Later in 1993, the 142 space chronograph went on the second German Spacelab mission, the D-2. The mission was in space for 10 days, orbiting the Earth 160 times whilst onboard the NASA Space Shuttle, Columbia. SINN was bought by Lothar Schmidt, an engineer, in 1994, renaming the company ‘Sinn Spezialuhren GmbH’. Over the years, Schmidt used his engineering background to develop Ar-dehumidifying technology, which is resistant to temperature. In 2011, they celebrated their 50th anniversary.
