2000s Oris Classic Worldtimer GMT Small Seconds Blue 7494

A 2000s Oris Classic Worldtimer GMT Small Seconds (ref. 7494), featuring a compact 37mm case and powered by the automatic Calibre 690. Description

This is one of those Oris pieces that tends to fly under the radar, but really shouldn’t. The first thing that stands out is the dial. In most light, it reads as a rich blue, but catch it at the right angle, and it shifts into a soft purple hue—it’s subtle, but it gives the watch a lot more personality than you’d expect. At 37mm, it wears brilliantly. Compact, balanced, and very easy to live with day to day. The worldtimer function is also genuinely useful and intuitive. The bracelet deserves a mention too—it’s solid, slightly weighty, and has a unique look that suits the watch perfectly. It adds a bit of presence without overpowering the overall design. Overall, it’s a very honest, slightly quirky GMT with just enough character to make it stand out—no surprise it often gets mistaken for a newer re-edition, and no surprise it is one that appears on my wrist often.
