1995 Oris 'Chronometer' Pointer Date 35mm 7467B

Here we have a 1995 Oris 'Chronometer' Pointer Date 7467B. Featuring a 35mm polished stainless steel case with a gentle curve to the tapered lugs, a lug-to-lug length of 42mm, and a thickness of 10mm, ensuring a comfortable fit on your wrist. On the right side is the signed crown protected by crown guards. The smooth, polished bezel supports a domed sapphire crystal. Its off-white sector dial features an outer date track with a centre indicator hand that has a red-coloured crescent to highlight the date, as well as an inner minute track with applied golden Arabic numerals and blue arrowhead indexes to mark the hours. Elegant blued hands with lume infill are complemented by a recessed sub-seconds at 9 o’clock. At 12 o’clock, we have the Oris motif “Officially Certified Chronometer” underneath and at 6 o’clock, “Automatic 27 Jewels”. On the reverse, a screw-down exhibition case back houses an automatic Oris Cal. 641, featuring 27 jewels and a beat rate of 28,800 beats per hour, based on the ETA 2836-2. It comes paired with its original Oris 18mm 5-link polished and brushed stainless steel bracelet, featuring a signed folding push-button concealed clasp, which will fit up to a 7-inch wrist. The watch also includes its Oris presentation box and Oris paperwork.

This watch is sold with its original Oris box and Oris 2025 Service paperwork. It comes paired with its original Oris 18mm 5-link polished and brushed stainless steel bracelet, featuring a signed folding push-button concealed clasp, which will fit up to a 7-inch wrist. The watch is from August 1995 and is sold in worn condition; however, overall, it is in very fair condition, as you can see. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

This is one reluctantly leaving the personal collection to make room for more goodies that have entered recently, plus I still have 2 other fantastic 90s Oris. This is the wonderful 1995 Oris 'Chronometer' Pointer Date, reference 7467B, in 35mm, and it wears perfectly on its Oris bracelet or on a range of straps, super versatile. It is also the only Pointer Date I have seen that goes anti-clockwise on the dial, no idea why, but that's cool. I suspect this will sell very quickly, but to whoever picks up, if you ever want to sell it in the future, call me first!

Oris, was founded in the picturesque Swiss town of Hölstein by two visionary entrepreneurs, Paul Cattin and George Christian. In 1904, they took a significant step by acquiring a factory and formalising their commitment to the community by signing a contract with the local mayor. Initially, Oris focused on crafting exquisite pocket watches. However, in a pivotal move in 1925, they began incorporating bracelets into their pocket timepieces, which marked the beginning of their evolution towards wristwatches. By 1929, their ambition had led to establishing a robust manufacturing network, with six factories operating under the Oris name. As the decades progressed, Oris solidified its status in the watchmaking industry, becoming one of the largest watch companies globally by the late 1960s, producing an impressive 1.2 million timepieces each year. In 1982, the brand experienced a transformational moment when Dr. Rolf Portmann and Ulrich W. Herzog orchestrated a management buyout from the Swatch Group, expressing dissatisfaction with the company’s management style. This bold decision culminated in the establishment of Oris SA as an independent Swiss watch brand. The journey of Oris has been marked by several notable milestones. In 1906, they expanded their operations by opening a second factory in Holderbank, followed by a third factory in Como in 1908. By 1911, Oris had become the largest employer in Hölstein, reflecting their rapid growth and the unswerving dedication to quality craftsmanship. By 1914, they had reached another impressive feat, having produced over a million watches. Oris has a rich history intertwined with aviation. In the 1920s, the brand made significant strides in developing pilot's watches, recognising the unique needs of aviators. This commitment culminated in 1938 with the launch of the iconic Big Crown—a distinctive pilot's watch featuring a large crown designed for easy adjustment, even while wearing gloves. In 2002, they proudly registered the Red Rotor, an emblematic symbol of their watchmaking philosophy, solidifying their identity in the horological world. In recent years, Oris has continued innovating, unveiling the Calibre 400 in 2020. This marked a significant milestone as it was the brand’s first in-house-developed automatic movement in decades, underscoring Oris's commitment to enhancing its legacy of mechanical excellence.
