Points of Mention
This watch is sold with its original Breitling box and Breitling paperwork. The watch comes paired on its original stainless steel Breitling bracelet, the bracelet is a total length of 21cm. The watches guarantee was signed in January 1995, therefore the watch is long out of its manufacture warranty. The case and bracelet appear to have been professional refinished, same way Breitling would do it, it is also giving a great reading on the timegrapher indicating to me it has probably received a full service recently, but with no paper-work for this, it is sold as "Unknown Service History", but will come with KibbleWatches 12-Month NON-Waterproof Warranty.
Breitling was established in 1884 by Leon Breitling in the Swiss Jura Mountains. The Shark was first introduced in 1991. This 1995 A17605 has a 42mm stainless steel case, high polished and brushed surfaces and a gentle curve to the lugs makes for a comfortable fit. Its unidirectional bezel has deep grooves to aid the user turn it, the 60-minute numerals are etched and painted black which make them stand out against the stainless steel. Sapphire crystal sits flat above the white dial. A 60-minute outer track encircles the dial, Arabic numerals and batons indicate the hours are coated in Superluminova. At 3 o’clock a framed date window. 24-hour numerals sit below the baton markers. Broad sword hands are segmented and coated with Superluminova, the center seconds hand has the Breitling B and Anchor for a counterweight. The screw-down case back has Breitling and Shark engraved in the center. Along with the screw-down crown you have 300m water resistance. Inside is the automatic Breitling Cal. 17 which features 25 jewels and beats at 28,800 beats per hour. Fitted on its original 20mm Breitling bracelet with signed clasp.
Before this landing on my desk, I had never heard of the Breitling Shark and after some research, it appears not many had either and not many have come for sale. It is truly a great looking watch and clearly a competitor to their own Colt range of the time, I have to say, I really prefer this model! The fact this comes with its box and paperwork and condition is stupendous, it is all a bonus! Pair all of that with the fact this is easily one of the best priced Breitling Shark's on the market, it is a no-brainer!
