Points of Mention

This watch is sold as "Watch Only" and therefore comes with no Marathon box or Marathon Paperwork. The watch comes paired on a black military-style NATO in 16mm, perfectly paired with a black buckle. The watch is in worn condition but is overall very good, see the photos, this is mainly thanks to the case being made of plastic and the crystal being acrylic and easily polished. The watch is running well and giving a good reading on the timegrapher, though there is no known service history for the watch. I will provide a 3-month non-waterproof warranty with the watch.

The Watch

First introduced in 1964 the MIL-46374 was a watch made to US military specification, many watch brands took it upon themselves to create these watches such as Hamilton, Benrus, Westclox and Belforte. In 1973 the H3 and Radiation symbol was added to its requirements, the H3 stands for Tritium which is radioactive and gives that particularly bright lume. This 46374D variant dates from Oct 1992. A 34mm Composite/plastic case is black giving it a stealth appearance. An acrylic crystal covers the black dial, Arabic numerals indicating both 12 hours in large print and 24-hour in small print, both painted in white giving great contrast to the black of the dial, Triangle lume pips mark the hours around the outer minute track. Syringe hands are painted in H2 Tritium, with an arrowhead centre seconds hand. The lume is bright and provides excellent visibility at night. On the back, a complete set of US Military references are embossed, inside a manual wound, 7 jewels 18,000 beats per hour, non-hacking movement.  It comes on a 16mm black military NATO.

Personal Note

Military watches are all the hype at the moment, and rightfully so! When I saw this Marathon I just had to have it, I fell in love immediately with the design and the size, wears so compact on the wrist. The dial is gorgeous and goes so well with the all-black look of the watch, the dial with the little radioactive symbol too is just so cool! I really think there is a TON of value in this watch, I suspect it will go to a happy home fairly quickly.
