This watch is sold as "Watch Only" and therefore comes with no original Seiko box or paperwork. The watch comes paired with a well-suited brown leather strap. The watch is from Circa. January 1982 and is sold in worn, vintage condition, but overall very fair condition as you can see. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

The Watch

Seikos history began in 1881 when Kintaro Hattori established the K. Hattori retail and repair store. In 1892 Seikosha was established making wall clocks. 1895 saw the production of their first pocket watch. 1913 saw the launch of their first wristwatch, the Laurel. In 1924 the first Seiko was manufactured. Daini Seikosha (now Seiko Instruments Inc.) was established in 1937. Seiko was listed on the Tokyo stock exchange in 1949. The Suwa factory became independent and formed Suwa Seikosha Co., Ltd. (now Seiko Epson Corporation in 1959).

Here we have a 1982 Seiko Quartz Dolce ``Tank" with an attractive and unusual  29mm “Tank” shaped Tungsten Carbide case. A chemical compound containing equal parts of tungsten metal and carbon, it is almost twice as stiff as steel and sits between lead and gold in density. Subtly curved corners and an elegant design make this stand out from the crowd. A lug to lug length of 36.5mm and a thickness of just 5.8mm ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist. On the right side is a crown. The flat polished bezel holds a flat crystal. The textured golden dial has applied finely chamfered indexes marking the hours. Elegant thin pencil hands are complemented by a tapered second hand. Text is precisely printed at 12 and 6 respectively.  On the reverse, a snap-off stainless steel case back. Inside a quality Seiko Quartz Cal. 5931. This movement was produced from 1978 until 1988. The watch comes fitted on an 18mm leather strap.
