This watch is sold with its original Dunhill box but no paperwork. It comes paired with its 18mm leather strap and hallmarked .925 Sterling Silver / Gold Plated pin buckle. The Watch
Here is a classic 1980s Dunhill .925 Silver Blue Dial "Vendôme" Quartz with a 33mm polished .925 Sterling Silver / Gold Plated round case. The screwed T Bar lugs are secured in the centre by a screw, creating a pleasing jewellery fitting. A lug-to-lug length of 40.5mm and a case thickness of just 6.5mm ensures a comfortable fit on your wrist. On the right side, a black cabochon crown with fine knurling for grip. The thin-stepped smooth bezel holds a chamfer-edged flat crystal above a stunning blue denim-coloured inner circle with a white outer ring and attractive radiating large Roman numeral hour markers, gold-plated stick hands sit majestically in the centre; at 12 o’clock, we have the Dunhill motif completing this sophisticated dress watch. On the reverse, a polished .925 Sterling Silver / Gold Plated snap-off case back is stamped with the Swiss hallmarks and details of the watch around its edge, inside a quality Swiss Quartz movement. It comes paired with its 18mm leather strap and hallmarked .925 Sterling Silver / Gold Plated pin buckle, and its original Dunhill presentation box.
Personal Note
I have been excited to bring this Dunhill to the website for sale, especially as, at the time of writing this, I have 2 examples, this wonderful Blue dial and one Green dial. I have called this the Dunhill "Vendôme" for apparent reasons, but it also stands strong on its own merits featuring a solid .925 sterling silver case and buckle, both gold plated which contrasts against the printed dial emulating a stone beautifully. I would not hesitate to snap this up, maybe even both if still available as it would be great to keep them both together!
The Brand
Alfred Dunhill Ltd. was founded in 1893 by Alfred Dunhill. Their first shop, “Dunhill's Motorities,” was opened at Euston Road, London. Since 1903, the shop has sold watches. It became famous for English luxury in clothing, leather accessories, writing implements, jewellery, lighters, and fragrances. Today, the Dunhill brand is owned by the Richemont group.
