The Watch
We have here a 40 year old Rolex Datejust, with a vibrant champagne 36mm dial, fluted gold bezel. Exquisite gold baton hands and hour markers. A date at the 3 o’clock with a cyclops window. 20 mm gold and stainless steel jubilee bracelet with a signed folding clasp. Inside is the Cal.3035, the first automatic with quick set function. 31 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, giving it the smooth tick associated with Rolex. A watch with elegance, reliability and Industry standard accuracy. All these are what make the Crown so well known, so well known in fact that it’s logo and name is one of the most recognised globally of any brand or logo beyond just watches, that is an achievement! Nevermind having customers waiting on a list for years… This one I will make you wait as long as it takes to be delivered, I’m a nice guy.
Personal Note
There is something so charming about a bi-metal Datejust on the wrist, especially on its original Jubilee. Sure they get stretched, but it makes them all the more comfortable on wrist. The dial on this watch is beautiful and in great condition, overall it is a nice package for the money!
