This beautiful 1977 9ct Yellow Gold Omega Reference 1625430 comes paired on an equally impressive red strap which compliments the overall look of the watch very well, also the omega signed buckle is a nice touch! The completely white dial contrasts so well against the yellow gold of the case, giving the watch a timeless elegance which looked incredible 40 years ago and will look just as amazing in the next 40 years!
The case back is engraved showing the appreciation of 25 years of work in Ilford Limited, dating February 1979, the watch was made in 1977 so I suspect it was in the shop window for a short while before being purchased to commemorate M.A.Smiths' achievement.
Points of Mention
This watch comes with no box or paperwork, an original gold plated Omega signed buckle is provided on the strap. The watch is currently working, though no service history is provided. The overall cosmetic condition of the watch is very good, though being 9ct gold it does have some scratches, the dial is very clean and free of marks. The case back does have an engraving as photographed.
I'm a sucker for Gold Omega's! This is certainly no exception, the case resembles a well proportioned Patek Philippe Calatrava in my mind, wears so well on the wrist and looks FAR more expensive than it actually is!
