The Watch

Rotary Watches Ltd was established at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, by Moise Dreyfuss in 1895. By the 1920s family members, Georges and Sylvain Dreyfuss began importing Rotary watches to Britain, which was to become the company's most successful market.

We have a Rotary Avenger. Its 34mm gold plated stainless steel case has polished and brushed surfaces, leading to angled tapering lugs. At 41mm lug to lug length, you can be sure of a comfortable fit on the wrist. A stepped bezel holds a domed crystal. The silver sunburst dial is slightly domed with an outer minute track clearly marked. Slim steel baton indexes mark the hours. At 3 o’clock you find a date window. Slim baton hands have lume tips alongside a center seconds hand, completing the simple yet elegant dial. On the reverse, a screw-down case back. Inside a manually wound FE Cal.140 17 Jewels 21600 Beats per hour. Fitted on an 18mm tan leather strap.

Personal Note

A lot of watch for not a lot of money. This really will tick the boxes for those looking for an affordable yellow tone dress watch, or for someone venturing into vintage or even a veteran of vintage! Plus I believe this watch would make a lovely gift.
