Points of Mention

This watch is sold as "Watch Only" and therefore comes with no original Zenith box or paperwork. The watch comes paired with a well-suited grey leather strap. The watch is from Circa. 1970s and is sold in worn, vintage condition with signs of wear and age throughout, however, for its age, it is in fair condition. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

The Watch

Founded in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot at 22 in Le Locle Switzerland. In November 1999 they were purchased by LVMH Group joining brands like TAG Heuer and Hublot. They continue to manufacture their own in-house movements. The Zenith logo changed to the square on the dial, crown, and buckle around 1971 up until 2000 when the 5 pointed star with "Z" in the center made a return. Over the years Zenith has won over 2300 awards for precision.

Here we have a 1970 Zenith Hi-Beat with a 40mm Oversized for that time period cushion case with polished and brushed surfaces. A lug to lug length of 41mm and a thickness of 11mm ensures a comfortable fit on your wrist. On the right side a signed crown. A domed crystal sits above a silver dial. An outer minute chapter ring with double applied baton indexes marks the hours. Between the 4 and 5 a date window. Slender baton hands with lume infill are complemented by a tapered sweeping second hand. Text is precisely printed at 12 o’clock. On the reverse, a screw-down case back. Inside an Automatic Zenith Cal. 2562PC, 23 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour. The watch comes fitted on a 20mm leather strap.

Personal Note

It is no secret I am a huge fan of Zenith, owning some special examples personally, and have stocked so many over the years, I advocate all vintage Zenith and think people should be paying more attention! That being said if you accidentally skip over this one I won't mind too much so I can enjoy it more, so underrated, and at its size it's incredible on the wrist!
