Points of Mention

This watch is sold as "Watch Only" and therefore comes with no original Breitling box or paperwork. The watch comes paired on a well-suited brown crocodile strap with an original vintage Breitling buckle, the strap is a short length so a normal length strap will be provided too. The watch is from Circa. 1969 and is sold in worn, vintage condition, wear is visible but overall the watch is very fair for its age. The watch comes with our 12-Months Non-Waterproof Warranty.

The Watch

Breitling was established in 1884 by Leon Breitling in the Swiss Jura Mountains. Breitling stands for high precision, outstanding performance, and functionality.

Our 1969 Breitling Sprint 2010 "Zorro" was at the time seen as an entry-level chronograph due to only having two registers rather than the typical three. Its distinctive dial configuration gives the watch its nickname of “Batman” or “Zorro” both masked heroes seen on TV and in comics standing up for good against evil. The 39.5mm round stainless steel case has long slightly tapered lugs. A lug to lug length of 47.5mm and a thickness of 12mm gives the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side, pump pushers a signed crown. The 12 hours/60-minute scale rotating black bezel holds a domed crystal. A silver sunburst dial has an outer Tachymetre scale finely printed. Applied baton indexes mark the hours. At 3 o’clock a 45-minute register with a splash of red and at 9 o’clock a 60 seconds register. Both encased in a black geometric border. Large baton hands are complemented by a red chronograph seconds hand. Text is printed simply and precisely. On the reverse, a screw-down case back with “Breitling 2010” engraved into the center. Inside a Manually Wound Valjoux 7733, 17 jewels, 18,000 beats per hour. Using the infamous Valjoux 7733 was considered at the time a more affordable alternative to some of Breitling's other offerings, though today the market has grown more fond of the 2 dial layout chronographs of the 60s and 70s. The watch comes fitted on a 19mm leather strap with a vintage signed Breitling buckle.

Personal Note

An incredible watch from Breitling and they clearly agree as they recently brought it back into the modern catalog, we had one previously that we sold the very day before the release of the modern example! I am excited to bring this one to market as it is in great condition for its age and I believe far nicer and better value than the new version!
