Here we have a 1962 Omega Seamaster Crosshair 14775 featuring a 34mm gold-plated round case that gently curves over your wrist with straight, flat-ended lugs. Its slim curved flanks lead to a comfortable lug-to-lug length of 40mm and a case thickness of 9.5mm. On the right side, a signed push/pull crown. The smooth bezel holds a domed crystal above a stunning sunburst silver vertically brushed cross-hair dial. An outer minute track surrounds applied gold-plated indexes marking the hours. At 3 o’clock, a framed date window. Gold-plated hands are complemented by a tapered sweeping second hand. At noon, we have the applied Omega motif, and at 6 o’clock, ‘Seamaster’ completes this striking vintage timepiece. On the screw-down case back, we have the embossed hippocampus and a seahorse, which represent Neptune, the god of the sea. It was conceived by Pierre Borie after seeing a picture of Neptune riding a chariot pulled by seahorses. It is the reason why the seahorses are wearing a bridle and was first seen on the Seamaster in 1958. Inside a manually wound Omega Cal. 610, 17 jewels, beating at 19,800 beats per hour. It comes paired with a well-suited 18mm leather strap.
