Points of Mention

This watch is sold as "Watch Only" and therefore comes with no original Juvenia box or paperwork. The watch comes paired with a well-suited black leather strap. The watch is from Circa. 1960s and is sold in worn, vintage condition, overall very fair condition for its age as you can see, some marks to the dial are visible. The watch comes with our 12-Months Non-Waterproof Warranty.

The Watch

In 1860, Jacques Didisheim, a descendant of an Alsatian family, founded a watchmaking workshop in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. Juvenia is named after his wife. Several years later, the manufacture was re-established in La Chaux-de-Fonds, this was an ideal location for developing the brand. In 1880 they became one of the first watchmaking houses to make ladies' watches. 1908 saw the introduction of a range of extra-flat movements which they manufactured in-house. In 1914 they showcased at the Swiss National Exhibition the world's thinnest watch at that time. It measured 9.5 mm in diameter and 2.5 mm in thickness. Over the years they have become famous for original and avant-garde designs. Their success continues with the opening of 2 Boutiques in Shanghai and Beijing in 2009.

On February 5, 1883, the brothers César Alexander and Jean Henri Türler founded the watch manufacturer Türler. Based in the town of Biel/Bienne in Switzerland. You can also find the Omega Museum in the same town. Turler opened its first store in 1907 and has established itself as prominent jewellery and watch retailer like Tiffanys and many brands like Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger-LeCoultre (JLC), Blancpain, International Watch Co. (IWC), Universal Geneve and Omega double signed their dials like this one. Today Turler runs its operations in Zurich, Switzerland. The 33mm round stainless steel case gently curves towards straight lugs. A lug to lug length of 39mm and a thickness of just 7mm ensures a comfortable fit on your wrist. A domed crystal sits above a white dial, its surface gives the appearance of lacquer. Attractive Breguet numerals mark the hours. Elegant thermally blued leaf hands complete this super-thin dress watch. At 12 o’clock “Juvenia” and at 6 o’clock “Turler” printed in black. On the reverse, a snap-on case back. Inside a Manually Wound Aurore-Villeret 423. The watch comes fitted on an 18mm leather strap.

Personal Note

Breguet numerals, super-thin dress piece, double signed with a great retailer... All for under £500? Yes, please! This Juvenia is a real bargain for what it offers and one I suspect won't hang about long, if you are interested I'd suggest you snap it up now as finding another won't be an easy task.
